Bengaluru is once again making headlines, this time for a bizarre road incident that quickly went viral. A woman, identified as Pankhuri Mishra, was caught on camera hitting an auto driver with her slipper in broad daylight near Centro Mall in Bellandur. The dramatic clip, which spread quickly on social media, shows Mishra repeatedly striking the driver while he calmly records the scene on his phone.
During the confrontation, Mishra can be heard saying that the driver misbehaved with her and crushed her leg before starting to film. On the other hand, the auto driver, named Lokesh, explained that he began recording because the woman was speaking in Hindi rather than the local language, Kannada, which made him uncomfortable.

According to reports, the incident took place around 3 PM. Mishra and her husband were riding a two-wheeler when they allegedly brushed against Lokesh’s auto while changing lanes. Following the altercation, Lokesh filed a police complaint, accusing Mishra of attacking him without provocation. As a result, the Bellandur police registered an FIR against Mishra, who is originally from Bihar and currently living in Bengaluru.
As the issue gained attention online, Mishra and her husband appeared in another video to issue a public apology. In the video, the couple is seen touching the driver’s feet. Mishra claimed she panicked during the incident because she is pregnant and felt unsafe when the auto came too close to their vehicle. She added, “We love Bengaluru, we love the culture, and we love the people.”
The viral clip sparked strong reactions on social media. Some users criticized Mishra’s behavior, saying pregnancy doesn’t justify violence. Others expressed disappointment over how the situation was handled. One comment read, “Making a pregnant woman grovel and beg shows how much our society has changed.” Another noted, “Most road rage comes from ego. A simple apology at the right time could solve 90% of such issues.”
